That his English life is really non-existent, and after so many years, wanderlust might, should have faded. Chapter Two is about "the Old World", rambling about how Troy and the Greeks were from Northern Europe, Hyperborea is the Isle of Lewis, the Egyptians travelled in the Sahara to trade, ending on the only solid evidence in the whole book, the recent excavations of ancient sites in Turkey (plus Jericho) such as Gobekli Tepe. This is by far the best with a lot of personal experiences. Then, if you want to go farther, go ahead and explore the linear algebra/ Fourier etc.
